Spotify says the tally now stands at 55 countries total with today’s additions. The company expanded to 14 Latin American countries last September, including Mexico, Peru, Argentina and more. Spotify has launched Spotify Duo, a subscription plan for couples that gives each partner their own premium account under one lowered bill. The plan rolls out on Wednesday and it's called 'Spotify Premium. Initially, it was only available in Denmark, Ireland and Poland. 1:00 Spotify is launching a new subscription tier that bundles two premium memberships onto a single, more affordable plan. Spotify has been testing Premium Duo since March of 2019. At the time, Dawn Ostroff, Spotifys chief content and advertising business officer, called Prince Harry and Meghan 'citizens of the world,' celebrating their goal of uplifting underrepresented. By accepting the invite, you agree to the Spotify Premium Duo terms. No refunds are available for changing from your current Premium plan before the end of your paid subscription period. Each person gets their own account, so you don’t have to worry about annoying the other person with your guilty pleasures. If you’re already on Spotify, you can keep your account details, playlists and saved music. In addition to the cost savings, Spotify offers Duo plan users a regularly updated playlist of music that you both listen to regularly. ![]() While couples might be the obvious scenario, roommates can also take advantage of the offer. The catch, of course, is that you have to live at the same home address as the person you’re sharing with. The $12.99 monthly rate is sure to be more attractive than paying $9.99 each for two accounts. It isn’t as good of a deal as the Family plan, but it will still save you some money. Like Premium Family does for up to six accounts, Premium Duo gives you access to ad-free streaming for two people for less than the cost of two separate subscriptions. Today, the Duo plan makes its US debut as part of another round of expansion that includes the UK, Germany, Italy, India, Spain and dozens more new markets.
